Starting in 1991, Stanford Newman pondered production of a super premium cigar, the Diamond Crown, with Carlos Fuente Sr. In celebration of his J.C. Newman Cigar Company's upcoming 100th Anniversary, Stanford developed an outstanding line of cigars unique in the market. Cost, time and market viability were of no concern. In his mid 70s, Standford wanted to cap off five decades in the cigar business by creating the smoothest, most flavorful cigar possible. Stanford knew that if he wanted to deliver the richest, yet most consistent full-flavored cigar possible, he would have to make the Diamond Crown a thick cigar. Padilla Signature 1932 Robusto
Padilla Signature 1932 was blended by Jose 'Pepin' Garcia, and is produced in the Little Havana section of Miami in limited quantities. Ernesto Padilla named the brand in honor of his father, Heberto, who was born in 1932. The late Heberto was a renowned Cuban poet and friend of Ernest Hemingway. A five year old Cuban Corojo Nicaraguan wrapper surrounds the all-Nicaraguan Criollo binder and filler. The full-bodied Signature 1932 has an amazing aroma, described by Cigar Aficionado as 'having notes of earth and leather, all wrapped around of core of spice.'
